Dani started her career in makeup working in beauty halls in Cardiff in 2008, after a couple of years working for various brands, she moved to Ibiza where she became a body painter and worked freelance creating the outlandish makeup looks coveted by DJ’s, dancers and performers. After moving to London in 2012, alongside her modelling career, she has continued to freelance, working on editorials and branching out into special effects and drag.
For the last five years, Dani has worked with AOFM, running the academies in London, New York and Online. She is now the full-time academy manager in London, supporting students with their education and helping in the building of future artists careers.
Jana Ririnui created and founded the Academy of Freelance Makeup nearly a decade ago. Although already an accomplished makeup artist, he also occasionally taught at makeup schools in London, seeing first-hand a lack of transparency and real industry advice in such training. This spurred him on to approach his closest artist friends to create the first industry-based makeup school entirely run by the top working freelance makeup artists. It was important to him and his colleagues that students understood the real world of working as a makeup artist and are given a no-nonsense, honest approach to teaching the makeup artists of the future. He realised many schools promised a world of bright lights and fame without teaching them how to get to the top of the industry ladder. To this day Jana hand-picks the best in the business, inviting them into the Academy to teach students everything they need to know to prepare them for success.
Jana has since taken this unique ethos of solid, impartial and honest advice and true industry knowledge even further, supporting his graduates out of the four walls of the classroom and placing them all over the world to work backstage at the biggest international Fashion Weeks and industry events as well as to assist AOFM’s artists on top magazines and the world’s most famous celebs.
Jana’s untiring commitment to AOFM graduates continues to push the boundaries of makeup education to this day, making AOFM one of the most renowned and respected makeup schools in the world in the process.
